Director Frank Weston and Producer Bruce Finney invite you to see this wonderful musical comedy, a joyous story of unjust oppression and triumphant reward.  In this classic rags-to-riches story, orphaned Cinderella (played by Blaize Hall, ofFairfax) lives as a servant with her evil stepmother (played by Cynthia Little, of Milton) and stepsisters (Kathleen Buckley, of Cambridge, and Holly Durfee, of Milton).  With the help of her Fairy Godmother (Mallory Hazen, of Johnson), Cinderella is able to attend the royal ball and meet the Prince (Jacob Thompson, of Morrisville).  As the clock strikes midnight, she must bid the prince a hasty goodnight, but leaves her glass slipper behind.  The prince searches the kingdom for the girl of his dreams, and the hearts of children and adults will still soar when he finds her and the slipper fits!

Thanks to the talents and efforts of Music Director Shaun Booher of Morrisville, Set Designer and Painter Lauren Smith of Hyde Park and Costumer Debi Bell of Morrisville, Weston plans to present a “vibrant and energized” telling of this well-known tale.  “We are working on establishing deeper characters than a standard fairytale by developing the relationships and focusing on the individuals,” says Weston.

Weston has become a valued member of the LCP family, as this production marks his third stint in the director’s chair in as many years.  He directed Grease last summer, and How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying in 2007.

Director’s Notes:  After being approached in 1957 to write a musical for CBS television, the Broadway songwriters Rodgers & Hammerstein developed the classic tale specifically with Julie Andrews in mind.  Subsequent versions for TV have starred Leslie Ann Warren (1965) and Brandy (1997).  The version, as presented by the Lamoille County Players uses the best components of all three TV shows.
