The unforgettable characters from Kenneth Grahame's classic story will delight audiences of all ages in this joyful Broadway musical adaptation. The principal characters are primarily adults, however there will be ample opportunities for children of all ages to be part of the ensemble.

This a warm and wonderful tale about the friendship and struggles of four very human-like riverbank animals, Rat, Mole, Toad and Badger, their arch enemies the dreaded tap-dancing Weasels and Stoats, and many supporting Squirrels, Rabbits and other woodland creatures. Its themes include the importance of friends and community, and of learning to get along with others who are different from us. Briefly Mole, a curious young woman, leaves her underground life for adventure, and meets the kindly Water Rat, who agrees to show her the world. That world includes the loveably conceited Mr. Toad, whose outrageous enthusiasm for motorcars brings trouble to everyone, and the old boxing champion, Badger, who leads them to victory over the evil Weasels and Stoats who have captured Toad's ancestral home.

In addition to the principal characters, there are many delightful "cameo" roles, including a kindly but dumb Jailer's daughter, a hilarious Judge, Prosecutor and Clerk of the Court, and a stereotypical Frenchman. The Weasels and Stoats chorus will be made up primarily of teenage to young adults who like wild musical numbers and dancing, and the Rabbit chorus and other woodland creatures who will be primarily younger children. The show is chock full of music, with up to 20 musical pieces, ranging from tender love songs to rousing production numbers full of dance and other wild antics.
