We're pleased to include, once again, The Sound of Music in our line up of shows for our 50th season. This marks LCP's 24th staging of this beloved musical. This year's production pairs Gayle Steele, Stage and Music Director, and Enid Rosenblum, Producer, and they look forward to a fruitful collaboration.

Their challenge of sorts is to keep the spirit of past shows yet enhance the production with a new vision. Since the beginning, The Sound of Music has been the most universal of Rogers & Hammerstein's musicals. It is a show rich in characters, humor and emotion that takes place at a time that challenged free people throughout the world. With its irresistible score, great roles for children, singing nuns, and the special ties to our Vermont hills, The Sound of Music has been a consistent favorite that has kept audiences coming to the Hyde Park Opera House again and again.
